My friend/family member takes great pictures—why should I go through the hassle of using a pro?

Although I was not born in Ohio, I have lived most of my life here and consider myself a native. I did live in other locations (some much warmer) long enough to learn that Columbus is the BEST place to be! Here are my top reasons,
There are probably too many for me to list, but here is the start of a list as to why Columbus, Ohio is the best place to live.
The Ohio State University & the Buckeyes….need I say more?
Location, Location, Location – Columbus is so centrally located, its just a short flight away from almost anywhere in the US.
The people are great are #1 in Columbus – I have lived in southern states and their “southern hospitality” is just a gimmick - The people in the midwest are much friendlier!
The cost of living in Central Ohio is VERY reasonable.
Good Business – we have more corporate headquarters in Columbus then you would expect. Nationwide, Limited, Worthington Industries, Cardinal Health, all call Columbus home.
The Columbus Zoo & Jack Hanna (love him)
Weather- I know most of you may disagree, but Columbus weather is fairly mild. Yes, it is gray for a lot of the winter, But for me, it is great to have a change of season and the ability to snow ski and water ski all within an hour of each other. Plus I LOVE a white Christmas!
Alum Creek, Hoover Dam, the Scioto River, OK, they are not the Pacific Ocean, but they are bodies of water and great places to get away WITHOUT the sand!
What am I forgetting thats great about Columbus? Please email me and let me know and I will add it to this blog!
The photographic art you choose to place on your wall is ultimately the result of the vision of the photographer. This vision, coupled with what you wear to your session, the environment, the lighting, even the mood the subjects are in at the time of photographing creates the work that you will want to proudly display on your walls forevermore.
Your first step in the process is more about determining who you are, who your family is and then seeking a photographer that reflects your style. The photographer you probably should choose is a photographer who has style is very similar to the style you desire.
What custom photography ultimately is all about is choice and experience (as in THE experience). Custom photography is about finding someone who will photograph your family, give you devoted 1:1 attention without worry of the next ‘in line’ or the feeling of a crowded portrait studio. A custom photographer will typically show you a fairly extensive gallery culled to only show the good images that meet the photographers’ creative sensibilities. Often the images are fully edited images-color corrected with blemishes and undereye circles removed. Custom photographers are also known as boutique studios, offering a range of products and unparalleled service. Think Lexus vs. Hyundai, think Nordstrom vs. WalMart.
Custom photography should have you, the client and your experience in mind.
Well, it is that time of year….SLOW. Slow for Photographers, so we all SAVE for the conventions! I am on my way Friday for Las Vegas for the WPPI Convention ! It is a comprehensive photographers “workshop/party”. There are over 130 classes and more than 300 exhibitors at the trade show. OH MY! I am sure I will come back invigorated and full of fresh, creative portrait ideas. Stay tuned for new fun stuff to come to my studio.
Check out these beauties. These girls are naturals and we had so much fun dressing up during the shoot. Be sure to vote for them!
